9 MISTAKES ON THE INTERNET MUST STOP RIGHT NOW

Nowadays, we use the internet, from a smartphone, computer or a laptop. But on the Internet, we make some silly mistakes unknowingly, and these small mistakes can create big problems.

We have to stop making such mistakes that we used to do online now and then. Otherwise, the consequences can attract great harm to us. So, stop doing these silly mistakes right now. Let's learn about those mistakes being done online while using a computer and the internet.

1. IGNORANCE OF THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN HTTP AND HTTPS

The first mistake we do while surfing on the internet is being ignorant of the difference between HTTP and https.
When you open a site or do online transactions or even do some other things on the internet, you can find it at the top left side of the address bar. HTTP is the HyperText Transfer Protocol and HTTPS is hypertext transfer protocol secure. These are types of protocols that are used online. The only difference is 's' i.e. 'secure'. It means you are safe when you give your information anywhere on the Internet or do online transactions if the site is an https. Hence, always be sure of your search address must be 'https'.
On the other hand, if you give any of your details on the 'HTTP' websites or online registration or give your debit/ credit card details, then hackers can get easy access to your details. So, always keep this thing on mind while you are on the internet. If you need to provide your personal details, do so only when you are browsing an 'https' site.

2. OPEN UNKNOWN FACEBOOK WEBSITE

One of the common mistakes on the Internet is to submit details on some unknown websites on Facebook. Yes, It's true! When you see, a friend or your family member share a post on Facebook like 'How do you look after 10 years?' Or 'Who is the closest person to you?' You also share these things with your details. Even, without knowing the facts behind it, you do so. Mainly clicking on those websites you give some permissions that you do not even read. Hence, the hackers or developers who created the app or developed that website, easily get your details such as your location, your Name, age, address, your friends everything. Then they sell your data or information. Be careful, from all these websites. And do not log any website or give anything to your Facebook account.

3. MISCONCEPTION ABOUT INCOGNITO MODE

If you think no one (google) can track you if you use incognito mode on ur browser while watching 18+ Content or anything else. Then you are absolutely wrong. Though all the age groups have some extent of prone to do such mistakes, especially the teenagers possess more tendency. Google can easily track its 'incognito mode' and the IP address. So, don't think yourself hidden while using incognito mode.

4. USING OF THE SAME PASSWORD

One of the common mistakes while using the internet is to use the same password to access various sites. For example, you are logging in with email ID and password on facebook and get access to other sites with your Facebook or the same credentials using for Facebook. Such a way you are doing great mistake that brings harm to you. In brief, having a single password for accessing all your online accounts can lead to identity theft. Hence, you have to be careful and use separate credentials to be safe in the online world.

5. DO NOT USE TWO-STEP AUTHENTICATION

Most of the people do not know about two-step authentication sometimes called Two Factor Authentications. Two-step Authentications is a two-way password on a website, apps or on a social networking platform. We all use many social networking platforms like Facebook or WhatsApp. And we share and save our personal data and important documents on this platform. Most importantly, the mischievous people are always busy to hack such personal data. But, if you use 2 Factors Authentication in your Gmail account or WhatsApp or Facebook account, those cannot be hacked. Hence, hackers will not be able to steal your data.

6. USING THE FREE WIFI

We feel a special attraction to the name itself is 'FREE'. But using free WiFi can be a dangerous thing. Sometimes you may find in a railway station or by the street or even in restaurants there is a WiFi connection without a password for using net data absolutely free. And there are many people who connect these free WiFi, without thinking a little bit. Once again it has to say that you are making a big mistake if you also do so. Sometimes these can be the traps from hackers or wicked persons. They have the intention to collect personal data for their own benefit. Be sure to avoid all these things. Do not use free WiFi. If you have verified it with OTP or password, you can use it. But you should remember that nothing is free or anyone does not offer anything free. There must be some reasons behind it. You have to decide whether it is bad or good.

7. ONLINE DATING

Online dating is getting popular day after day. You can find a number of sites, apps relating to such a topic. Besides, those become helpful to many by bringing happiness in the form of their mates. But, its dark side also cannot be ignored. Always keep in mind that you need to provide your personal details and even your id card at the time of registration in those sites. Hence, before using those sites you must be aware of their reputation and should have knowledge of their terms and conditions.

8. INCORRECT LOGIN TO THE WEBSITE

This is also a common misconception or mistake done at the time of using the internet. Sometimes, you will see when you try to enter a website, it will be redirected to another webpage and there you will be asked to give your email address password. Always be aware of such redirection and never log in to such sites with your personal information.
Besides, avoid clicking on pop-ups that say “Your Pc is Insecure”, such links can have malware automatically downloaded to your PC.

9.  Avoid downloading unnecessary things

Avoid downloading free stuff such as screen saver and those stupid smiley faces. Such things are very dangerous to your PC and you will soon notice it has turned slow then earlier.
